At Cumorah Academy, leadership isn’t just a title, it’s a lifestyle of service, growth, and community. Each of our Student Leadership Interns (SLIs), interns, and team coordinators brings their unique backgrounds, talents, and passions to help shape the experience for everyone on campus.
Whether they’re behind the scenes managing logistics, mentoring others, or leading by example, these young leaders have returned to Cumorah with a shared goal: to make a difference and become better versions of themselves.
In this post, you’ll meet some of the inspiring individuals who are dedicating their time and hearts to the Cumorah mission. Get to know who they are, why they came back, and what motivates them to lead with purpose.
Meet Antonella: A Journey of Growth and Giving Back

Monica Antonella Romero, 27, comes from the beautiful city of Milan, Italy. With a background in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation, Antonella is no stranger to navigating diverse environments, something that’s served her well in her current roles at Cumorah Academy.
This semester, she returns not just as a student but as both an SLI (Student Leadership Intern) and Mentor Coordinator. Last semester, she was part of the business program, and it left a deep impression on her. She chose to come back because she saw an opportunity not only to continue learning but also to give back to the community that gave her so much.
“I felt like there was still more to learn,” she says, “and I wanted to apply everything I had gained as a student. I also wanted to grow more as a leader and gain experience working in a multicultural environment.”
Outside of her leadership responsibilities, Antonella finds joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loves walking in nature, hitting the gym, listening to music, and dancing. Her energy and commitment to personal growth make her a vibrant part of the Cumorah family, someone who truly embodies the spirit of learning, leading, and serving.
Meet Bryce: Driven by Purpose and Passion

At just 21 years old, Bryce comes to Cumorah Academy from The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield in the UK. This semester, he serves as an SLI with a focus on contribution work, a role that reflects both his dedication and his desire to make a meaningful difference.
Bryce felt a strong prompting to return to Cumorah. After experiencing the impact the academy has on people’s lives, he knew he wanted to be a part of that transformative process. “I saw how powerful this place can be,” he shares. “I wanted to come back and contribute to that mission.”
As part of the contribution team, Bryce plays a key role in organizing projects that help the academy run smoothly and serve others with purpose.
Outside of his responsibilities, Bryce enjoys hacking (the ethical kind!), strumming the guitar, and hitting the golf course. His thoughtful nature and quiet determination make him a valuable member of the Cumorah community, someone who leads by example and lives with intention.
Meet Estefany: Turning Leadership into a Lifestyle

Estefany, 21, comes from the lively city of Madrid, Spain. This semester, she returned to Cumorah Academy with a clear purpose: to put into practice everything she learned during her previous experience in the leadership program.
“I said yes again because I want to keep growing,” she shares. “I want to apply what I studied, expand my résumé, continue improving my English, meet new people, and spend time with others who share my values.”
Her return is more than just a personal investment, it’s a transition from student to leader. Steffany is discovering how leadership extends beyond work and into family life, personal development, and spiritual growth. “It’s teaching me how to handle responsibilities in every area of life and to become a better person, and more importantly, a better disciple of Jesus Christ.”
Having recently returned from her mission, Steffany sees this experience as a meaningful step in adapting to life after missionary service. It’s helping her build the foundation she needs for the future, both professionally and personally.
When she’s not serving or leading, Steffany is full of energy and joy. She loves sports, music, and spending time in nature. She enjoys drawing, extreme sports, reading, and making the most of each day. Above all, she values time with her friends and loved ones.
Meet Filip: The Tech Wizard Behind the Scenes

Filip Andrei Mocescu, 22, hails from Romania and is best known at Cumorah Academy as the AV guy. Whether it’s setting up for a big event, fixing a technical glitch, or supporting the activity committee, Filip is the go-to person when it comes to anything involving technology. His passion for electronics and all things AV shines through in everything he does.
A former Cumorah student, Filip felt deeply inspired to return—but this time in a leadership role. “Being a leader is definitely more challenging than being a student,” he admits. “But it’s also more rewarding.” Through this experience, he’s learning how to work with different personalities, coordinate effectively, and inspire others through service and support.
Filip’s leadership journey is helping him grow in patience, communication, and teamwork. While he may be behind the scenes most of the time, his impact is felt across campus.
Outside of his tech world, Filip enjoys playing pool, listening to music, and—when he gets the chance—sleeping in. He’s also a big fan of water and finds peace being around it. His unique blend of skills and calm presence make him an essential part of the Cumorah community.
Meet Daria: Leading with Heart and Purpose

Daria, 22, comes from the beautiful country of Ukraine and is currently serving at Cumorah Academy as both an SLE and the Cleaning Manager. With a calm spirit and strong work ethic, she brings grace and order to her responsibilities while inspiring those around her.
Returning to Cumorah was an intentional choice for Daria. “It’s a great opportunity to serve others, meet new friends, and gain more experience,” she says. But more than that, it was a personal challenge and a chance to grow. “I wanted to try myself as a leader so I can be more prepared for my future. Leadership is something that applies to every area of life, and learning it now will help me later.”
Through her role, Daria is gaining valuable skills in organization, communication, and teamwork while creating a positive environment for those she serves.
Outside of her leadership duties, Daria enjoys quiet moments and active movement. Her hobbies include getting lost in a good book, taking long walks, and playing badminton. Her thoughtful nature and dedication make her a steady, uplifting presence in the Cumorah community.
Growing Together, Leading Together
The Spring Semester simply wouldn’t be the same without them. Just like our students, our SLIs are driven to uplift, inspire, and bring out the best in one another. At the heart of our philosophy is a commitment to helping every individual grow into their best self—and that includes everyone who works with us.
Each of our SLIs brings a unique strength that fits seamlessly into our mission. We’re not just fortunate to have them—we’re better because of them.
