Give Change: How Belief and Opportunity Transform Lives

November 18, 2025  •  Author: marketing

“During my time at Cumorah, I realized how powerful our beliefs about ourselves can be. To achieve something, action alone isn’t enough — our beliefs matter just as much. I’ve learned to change my mindset: to dream big, to stop setting limits, and to plan and work hard to make those dreams real.”
Walter Stamm, Argentina

The Power to Give Change

Change begins quietly. Sometimes it’s in the moment someone realizes they can do more than they thought possible. For our student Walter Stamm, that moment happened at Cumorah Academy.

Walter arrived with goals and determination, but what he discovered was something deeper: real transformation starts in the mind. At Cumorah Academy, young people from around the world are learning that lasting growth doesn’t happen through effort alone. It happens when they challenge limiting beliefs, learn to dream without fear, and build the confidence to turn those dreams into reality.

This is the heart of the Giving Hope Campaign. It’s not just about providing education; it’s about learning how to Give Change—by empowering students to believe in themselves, act with courage, and create meaningful impact in their lives and beyond.

A Place Where Students Learn to Give Change

Cumorah Academy is more than a school; it’s a place where belief becomes action. Every student’s journey begins differently. Some arrive unsure of themselves, others ready to grow, but nearly all experience a mindset shift that changes everything.

Morning leadership classes build confidence. Public speaking workshops teach students to own their voice. Business and language programs push them to think bigger. And perhaps most importantly, mentorship sessions give them someone who believes in them even when they doubt themselves.

Walter put it simply: “Action alone isn’t enough—our beliefs matter just as much.” At Cumorah, students learn to rewrite those beliefs and discover how to Give Change—first within themselves, and then to others.

Transforming Mindsets Through Education

Education at Cumorah Academy isn’t confined to a classroom. It’s an experience designed to reshape how students see themselves and their potential through programs like Leadership and Personal Development, Sales Bootcamp, Business and Entrepreneurship, and English Certification.

Alongside these, electives such as Mindset and Milestones, Career Development, and Personal Finances provide students with practical tools to lead change in their own communities.

Walter’s journey is a reflection of what happens when students learn they can aim higher. When limiting beliefs are replaced with empowered thinking, action becomes unstoppable. And when students carry that transformation beyond campus, they begin to Give Change to the world around them.

Give Change: The Spark Behind Transformation

Behind every major change at Cumorah Academy, there’s usually a mentor standing quietly in the background. Mentors are at the heart of the academy’s culture; they listen, guide, challenge, and uplift. For many students, these weekly mentorship sessions become defining moments.

It’s where:

  • Fear turns into confidence.
  • Confusion becomes clarity.
  • Small dreams grow into ambitious goals.

Mentors help students see what they can’t yet see in themselves. And when students begin to believe, everything else follows. Walter describes this growth not as sudden, but as a process of learning to dream big, stop setting limits, and plan for real action.

That’s what Cumorah Academy does best: it helps students change their inner story, and then gives them the tools to Give Change to others through leadership, service, and purpose.

The Ripple Effect of Personal Change

Change doesn’t stay contained within the walls of Cumorah. It travels.

Students who transform their own mindset often go on to inspire others. They become leaders in their workplaces, schools, and communities. They build businesses, create initiatives, and mentor others the way they were mentored.

Walter’s story is one of many. His decision to change his mindset will ripple outward, affecting friends, family, future colleagues, and perhaps even generations to come.

Give Gratitude: The Heart Behind Giving Hope

Giving Hope is Cumorah Academy’s annual scholarship fund campaign—an invitation for individuals and partners worldwide to invest in the rising generation.

During this Thanksgiving season, our hearts turn to gratitude. We reflect on the blessings we’ve received and the people who believed in us along the way. Their faith in us opened doors, and now, we’re moved to do the same for others. This is the true spirit of Giving Hope.

Through this campaign, we receive donations that provide young adults with access to leadership and personal development programs—equipping them to lead with purpose, character, and faith.

Since its launch in 2023, the Giving Hope campaign has gathered scholarships that have empowered many students to discover their potential and become instruments of hope in their own communities.

Why Giving Creates Change

The truth is simple: opportunities like this are made possible because someone decided to give.

When you donate to Cumorah Academy, you’re not just funding a program. You’re:

  • Empowering students to break past their fears.
  • Opening doors to leadership, education, and self-belief.
  • Creating a ripple of impact that extends far beyond campus.

Walter’s mindset shift didn’t happen in isolation. It happened because there was a structure, a community, and a network of supporters who believed in making change possible. To Give Change is to give belief, courage, and opportunity.

Give Change, Spark Transformation

Change isn’t a single moment—it’s a journey. One that begins when someone chooses to believe in their potential. Walter’s journey at Cumorah is proof that when young people are given access to the right environment, they don’t just grow—they transform.
