Faith and Spirituality at Cumorah Academy
Cumorah Academy is built on a strong foundation of faith and spirituality. We encourage everyone to have faith in God and in themselves. The trip to the Temple reminds us of our purpose.
Everything we do is rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. From our classes to social events, our values are visible in every aspect of our program. Our goal is to create an environment where faith is not only taught but also lived.
One of Cumorah Academy’s unique traditions is our temple trip every semester. Regardless of one’s faith, all students are invited to participate and experience the peace and reflection this visit offers.

The Significance of the Temple
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints follows an ancient commandment found in the Old Testament: to build temples. These sacred spaces symbolize our commitment to God and serve as places of worship, reflection, and spiritual renewal.
“I felt a deep sense of calm and peace, unlike anything I’d experienced before,” shares Filip, a student from Romania. Interestingly, Filip is not a member of the Church, making his words even more profound and inspiring. His experience is a reminder that the temple stands as a symbol of spiritual devotion and higher standards.
Elder Robert D. Hales once taught:
“We are instructed in the scriptures to build temples and prepare our lives to be worthy to partake of the sacred temple ordinances and covenants.”
Inside the temple, families can be united for eternity, and sacred ordinances such as sealings and proxy baptisms are performed. Everything that takes place within its walls points to Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for humanity.
The key word here is “prepare.” Members of the Church strive to prepare themselves to enter this sacred space spiritually. One of the most rewarding parts of our temple trips is hearing our students share their experiences afterward.

A Unifying and Uplifting Experience at the Temple
Gabriel Gaspar, our business intern from Brazil, described his temple visit as deeply moving:
“I could feel the Spirit, and I could feel God’s love for me and for others there.”
Iain Saunders, our Academic Director, echoes this sentiment:
“Temple trips are always joyful. They’re something we look forward to every semester.”
This trip strengthens our spirituality and unity as a team. Despite the challenges we face, our common goal unites us—to grow closer to the Savior.
Seeing our students in the temple is a powerful reminder of the Academy’s impact. Despite coming from different countries and cultures, they gather in faith, giving us hope for the future. Our recent visit to the Freiberg Temple deepened our belief in this generation and their potential to accomplish great things.
