Cumorah Academy Photographer/Videographer Internship

Description

The Photographer–Videographer Intern plays a vital role in telling the story of Cumorah Academy through high-impact visual content. You will help shape the creative identity of a growing international LDS-values college by producing professional photo and video materials used for marketing, storytelling, and campus communication.

 

This internship offers an immersive opportunity to apply and expand your creative and technical skills in real-world contexts—ideal for students or graduates from Film, Media Arts, Communications, Advertising, or Visual Design programs seeking meaningful experience abroad.

 

Interns collaborate closely with the Art and Marketing teams to conceptualize, plan, and deliver visually compelling projects that align with institutional goals. Your work will capture authentic moments of learning, service, and connection—highlighting the global impact and growth of Cumorah Academy and its students as they develop into Christlike leaders and go forth to serve.

 

This internship provides an exceptional bridge between academic learning and professional application—ideal for students preparing to enter creative industries in film, media, advertising, or visual communication while still giving them the opportunity to consecrate their time and talents to contribute towards the strengthening of the Church community and its young members worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Programs and Marketing teams to develop and execute visual campaigns and promotional projects.
  • Capture, edit, and produce photo and video content for storytelling, advertising, and social media.
  • Direct and coordinate shoots, arrange lighting and composition, and ensure high-quality output across formats.
  • Manage and maintain organized archives of photo and video assets.
  • Communicate effectively with creative and leadership teams, providing updates and incorporating feedback.
  • Uphold brand standards while bringing creative originality to each project.
  • Meet production deadlines and deliver professional-quality content.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Film, Media Arts, Photography, Marketing, Videography, Communications, Advertising, or Digital Media.
  • Strong creative vision and understanding of narrative storytelling through visual media.
  • Demonstrated experience producing high-engagement or viral social media content across platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok.
  • Proven experience in photography and videography, with a professional or academic portfolio.
  • Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Capture One, or similar software.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; receptive to direction and feedback.
  • Respectful, professional, and aligned with Cumorah Academy’s mission and values.

Technical & Creative Skills

  • Competence in lighting, camera operation, sound, and editing workflows.
    Knowledge of production processes for both online and print distribution.
  • Ability to direct shoots, work collaboratively, and problem-solve on set.
  • Familiarity with creative storytelling principles used in professional content creation and marketing.

Expectations

Interns are expected to fully participate in the academic, social, and spiritual aspects of the Cumorah Academy experience — including classes, service projects, cultural excursions, and worship services.
