On June 27, Fortaleza hosted Education Day (Dia da Educação), a special event organized by local leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The event was designed to connect the community with educational opportunities and inspiring leaders who could help them prepare for the future.
The Church has long supported education as a way to strengthen individuals, families, and communities. Through free educational programs and career initiatives, it encourages lifelong learning, personal development, and professional growth.

One of the highlights of the event was a presentation by Cumorah Academy’s Chief Operating Officer, Kamila Fullmer.
Her lecture, “The Leadership Mindset,” mentions the roots of education and institutions that encouraged students to think critically and deeply.
She spoke about the importance of educational institutions in providing students with access to trusted educational resources.
“My desire is that we can trust in teaching institutions that want to transfer knowledge, giving confidence to people,” she said at a certain point in the lecture.
Interestingly, Kamila also spoke about students’ roles in their learning. She is inviting them to be self-reliant and to think critically about their learning journey.
“I truly believe in the power of education. Education changes lives, changes behaviors, and makes us accept changes.”
In a time when so much information is available, Kamila invites all to be proactive and use the new gadgets at their disposal.

“It was such a joy to see Cumorah Academy represented at Ceará Education Day,” said Samuel Cavalcante, a Cumorah Academy alumnus and volunteer at the event. Samuel expressed enthusiasm for the importance of education and the impact of Cumorah Academy.
“As a proud alumnus, I am deeply grateful for everything Cumorah Academy has given me. It was far more than an educational experience. It strengthened my faith, expanded my perspective, developed my leadership skills, and continues to bless my life in every area.”
He concludes: “I sincerely hope many more people will have the opportunity to experience the same life-changing journey.”
Other alumni, such as Silva Sena and Felipe Lima, spoke about how Cumorah Academy has impacted them in their lives. “Cumorah Academy is leadership,” they both said.
