The Power of Confidence
Confidence is a beautiful thing. With it, we can accomplish anything. It manifests in the simple deeds of our lives. As we confidently approach our goals in life, we are more likely to attain them.
Unfortunately, many young people suffer from a lack of confidence. Research shows that a high percentage of young people feel directionless and purposeless. As a consequence, they stop pursuing their goals and remain stagnant in life.

Craig and Sarah Wright: Making a Difference
Craig and Sarah Wright believe they can change this reality.
This smiling and cherished couple is passionate about young adults and actively involved in various activities. They have six children and happily live in England. The Wrights are very engaged in their community and church.
Craig and Sarah have had experiences in the Church’s Seminary and Institute programs. These programs bring together teens and young adults to learn about the Gospel and engage in social activities. Their involvement in these settings has given them valuable insight into how to uplift and support young adults.

Their Experience at Cumorah Academy
The Wrights’ experience with young adults in Gospel-centered classes and their efforts to build friendships have given them a vision of what is possible at Cumorah Academy.
The couple does not hold back on praise about their stay on campus. “This has been one of the most enriching and inspiring weeks of our lives,” they say.
Craig and Sarah have the knowledge and experience to mentor students and help increase their confidence—one of the key topics they taught this week. They used their love for the Gospel, their faith in this generation, and their professional experiences to inspire students.
Craig owns his own business in the fire safety industry, and Sarah is a trained therapist. Interestingly, Sarah was a stay-at-home mother for a couple of years before deciding to pursue her dreams. After five years of training, she became a therapist, serving people who have experienced grief and other challenges.

“The Lord Shall Be Thy Confidence”
Their experience is more relevant than ever. Unfortunately, many young adults feel directionless and purposeless. These feelings are part of the daily challenges this generation faces.
Despite these struggles, young people have everything they need to overcome feelings of inadequacy and find purpose. They can enhance their confidence in themselves and their potential. At Cumorah Academy, students are regaining that confidence.
They are learning that the Lord is with them and desires their success. The author of Proverbs wrote:
“Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence.”
With their experience in the Church and their dedication to young adults, the Wrights are very optimistic about the future. They want this generation to feel confident. Their counsel for young people is:
“Don’t compare yourself to others and enjoy life’s journey!”
Comparing ourselves to others diminishes our confidence. The key to overcoming this is to use who we were yesterday as a starting point. We should strive to be better than who we are today, rather than comparing ourselves to others. Thanks to Craig and Sarah, many young people have learned this valuable lesson.
