Thinking about the future can feel overwhelming.
Many young adults carry questions that never seem to stop. What career should I choose? Where should I live? Who do I want to become? Will my decisions lead me to the life I hope for?
Uncertainty creates anxiety. It also creates opportunity.
The story of Leine and Sayuri Batista shows how investing in your future as a young adult often begins with courage, faith, and openness to unexpected paths.
When the Future Feels Unclear
Young adulthood brings freedom. It also brings pressure.
You must make decisions that shape your career, relationships, education, and personal growth. Social media shows perfect timelines. Reality feels different. Many people feel behind before they even start.
Leine and Sayuri Batista, a couple from Brazil and students at Cumorah Academy, understand this feeling well. They faced questions about their future, their purpose, and the kind of life they wanted to build together.
They did not have all the answers. But they stayed open to change.
And everything started with a surprising moment.

An Unexpected Invitation
Leine first heard about Cumorah Academy through his cousin.
“He showed up to my house with three suitcases and said, ‘I’m going to the Czech Republic.’”
Their immediate reaction was simple and honest.
“Where’s the Czech Republic?”
Many students share this same experience. They hear about a place they never considered before. Curiosity replaces hesitation. A small conversation opens a new possibility.
After learning more about the courses and the program, Leine and Sayuri felt something different. They sensed that this opportunity could help them grow.
Then something unusual happened.
“20 minutes after that moment, we received a LinkedIn message from Cumorah Academy inviting us to come.”
Coincidence or purpose. Each person may interpret it differently. For Sayuri, the meaning felt clear.
“I don’t think things happen by accident.”

Choosing Growth Over Comfort
Investing in your future rarely feels comfortable at first.
Growth requires movement. Movement requires uncertainty.
Leine explains their motivation clearly:
“I’m studying Leadership, and I am also part of the Work Focus program.”
Sayuri adds:
“I’m studying Leadership and the English course.”
They did not choose the program only for education. They searched for transformation.
Leine shares the deeper reason behind their decision:
“We were looking for education, and it’s a place rooted and centralized in Jesus Christ.”
Many young adults search for technical skills. Few stop to ask who they want to become while gaining those skills. Leine and Sayuri wanted both personal and spiritual growth.
They also thought about their future as a family.
“We have been thinking about building the foundations of our family. We have been looking for experiences that would change us.”
This mindset reflects true investment. Not quick results. Not instant success. Long term growth.

Why Experiences Matter More Than Certainty
Young adults often wait for certainty before acting. They want guarantees before taking risks.
Life does not work that way.
Opportunities rarely arrive fully planned. They appear as invitations. They require trust before clarity.
At Cumorah Academy, Leine and Sayuri discovered more than classes. They built skills, strengthened their relationship, and created friendships that continue beyond the program.
They describe their experience simply.
Life at Cumorah Academy was wonderful.
They learned leadership, improved communication, and practiced English. They connected with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Most importantly, they grew together.
Shared experiences shape stronger relationships than shared comfort ever can.

The Lesson That Changed Everything
When asked about the most important lesson they learned, Sayuri answered immediately:
“Centralize all things in God: friendship, education, family, and all aspects of life.”
This principle became their foundation.
Many young adults separate areas of life. Career stays in one box. Faith stays in another. Relationships stay somewhere else.
Sayuri discovered a different approach.
Integration creates clarity.
When values guide decisions, confusion decreases. Purpose becomes stronger. Direction becomes clearer.
This lesson applies far beyond one program or one season of life.
Your future grows stronger when your values guide your choices.
Staying Open to Opportunities
Fear often blocks opportunity.
People wait until they feel ready. They wait for perfect timing. They wait for confidence.
Confidence usually comes after action, not before it.
Sayuri offers simple but powerful advice:
“Be open to opportunities. Allow God to help you to make the right decisions.”
Openness changes everything.
It allows new friendships. New skills. New places, and new perspectives.
It transforms uncertainty into discovery.
Many young adults underestimate how one decision can redirect their entire path. A conversation. A message. A program. A new environment.
Small steps create large change over time.

Investing in Your Future Starts Now
Investing in your future as a young adult does not require having everything figured out.
It requires faith in growth.
Leine and Sayuri did not know exactly what would happen when they accepted the invitation to Cumorah Academy. They only knew they wanted to grow, strengthen their relationship, and build a meaningful future.
That decision changed their lives.
Their story reminds us that the future does not belong to those who wait for certainty. The future belongs to those who choose growth.
You do not need a perfect plan. You need the willingness to take the next step.
Ask yourself:
- What experiences could help me grow right now?
- What opportunities am I ignoring because of fear?
- Who do I want to become in the next five years?
- What investment can I make in myself today?
Your answers may lead you in unexpected directions.
And that may be exactly where you need to go.
Your Next Step Starts Here
If you feel unsure about your direction, you are not alone. Many young adults stand at the same crossroads. The difference comes from action.
Invest in experiences that shape your character, expand your skills, and strengthen your purpose.
Cumorah Academy exists to help young adults grow through leadership training, education, mentorship, and faith-centered learning in an international environment.
Like Leine and Sayuri, you may discover that one decision can open doors you never imagined.
Your future will not build itself. Choose growth. Choose a purpose and invest in your future today.
